Shake and charge the Torch-Eco freindly
The chances of being stuck in a cave, in the dark, with vampire bats, are, thankfully, small. However, our motto is: preparation is everything. So our advice: do not leave home without the Shake Torch in your glove box or travel bag. And the reason? Simple: You shake the Shake Torch for approximately 45 seconds. And it gives you light for approximately 5 minutes. No batteries needed. Ah yes, eco-friendly and lasts forever. Very handy indeed.
Now for the science: the Shake Torch has a large magnet inside it. This sits within a conducting coil. As the torch is shaken, the magnet moves back and forth generating an electrical current. This current is then transferred to a holding cell which retains it and enables you to use the torch even if it has not been shaken for some time. You can even see the workings of the torch for yourself because it is made from semi-translucent shock resistant plastic. But that's not all. The Shake Torch uses an LED light rather than a bulb. LED light is both ultra-efficient and everlasting. Which means, no spare bulbs needed either. Ingenious, wouldn't you agree?
